Ages 6-10
First Shift
For players that have never played organized minor hockey and were born between January 1st, 2015 and May 1st, 2020. LMHA, in partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL), National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA), and Bauer Hockey, is offering the First Shift Program. The First Shift Program is an introductory hockey program that provides the participants with a complete set of Bauer Hockey equipment and a series of ice times to learn and develop the fundamental skills of hockey and assist in their transition to playing organized hockey the following year.
HCR ACCOUNT & LOGIN
NEW for the upcoming season, First Shift registration will be hosted on the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR). To help ensure a smooth experience for all prospective participants, we strongly encourage you to include the following message in your social media posts:
Important Registration Information - Registration for the 2025–2026 First Shift season opens on June 2nd at 12:00 PM ET (noon).
To register, you must have an HCR account — we recommend creating one in advance.
Create Your HCR Account HERE. Click on LOGIN (top right corner on the homepage) then SIGN UP. If you already have an HCR account, no further action is required. Please note the following important details:
A) Participants may only be registered for one program. Please ensure you select the correct program during registration.
B) Children who have previously participated in the First Shift program or have been registered with a Local Hockey Association are not eligible. For questions, contact: thefirstshift@hockeycanada.ca.C) No transfers will be permitted between June 2 and June 8.
