2018-19 Season "Rogers Hometown Hockey in Langley"

The Innes Corners Plaza in Langley was the latest stop for the weekend-long event, featuring Ron MacLean and co-host Tara Slone. On behalf of our LMHA Families we would like to thank Rogers Hometown Hockey for sharing the passion and the enthusiasm we have for the game of hockey with our membership, neighbouring associations and our community.

“It’s so rewarding,” Slone said. “I don’t think a moment goes by where Ron and I don’t get the sense that we’re seeing the country in such a privileged way. To be able to share this with the rest of the country is amazing.”

The weekend program celebrated the game at the younger levels with live music, family activities, autograph signings and much more.

2018-19 Season "Food Drive & Santa Skate"

Over 150 LMHA members attended our Santa Skate this year. We are very proud to announce that this event as well as our Food Drive with the Langley Rivermen displayed a wonderful example of our members giving back to the community by way of non-perishable food and cash donations. Here are some photos captured at both events..

2018-19 Peewee A3

Langley A3 went to volunteer at the Canadian Blind Hockey Tournament. The team went to help but left inspired! Not only did they see the abilities of these incredible athletes, they were fortunate to meet some Canucks Alumni. Cliff Ronning and Dave Babych discussed everything hockey with the team. The players opened gates, cheered on the competitors and looked after support dogs. It was a very inspirational day for the team and they were excited to get back on the ice as a group.

2018-19 Season "Puck Drop"

LMHA successfully hosted our first annual "Puck Drop".

Nearly 200 members joined us at George Preston Recreation Centre on September 28th. At this event we recognized Langley Minor Hockey achievements from last season and announced many of our exciting plans for the upcoming season. We were fortunate to have representatives from the IIHF World Junior Championship organizing team join us, bring the WJC Trophy for us to see, and donate a ton of awesome door prizes to add to the excitement about the tournament being hosted in our province!

At the “Meet and Greet” in the GPRC parking lot, LMHA provided hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and refreshments to all guests in attendance.

During the “Opening Extravaganza” we moved into the meeting rooms, took a look at the upcoming season, celebrated our successes of last season with award presentations, and had a discussion about the "Sportsmanship Starts in the Stands" initiative.

Take a look at some of the great pictures we captured at the event...
