A4K
A4K is NOW accepting applications! More than 1/3 of Canadian children cannot participate in sports or recreational activities due to financial barriers. A4K is working to change this throughout British Columbia, because in a positive environment of teamwork, competition and shared dreams, anything is possible. Jumpstart
Jumpstart is a National Charity with a commitment to local communities. Organized sports connect kids to their communities. Canadian Tire Corporation recognized this and makes sure that money raised stays where it is donated. Canadian Tire Corporation is Jumpstart’s biggest supporter as it funds all the general administrative expenses of Jumpstart, which means 100% of customer donations go directly to help kids in need.
KidSport
NOW accepting applications for the 2023/24 Season: KidSport is a national not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance for registration fees and equipment to kids aged 18 and under. Through a confidential application process we provide grants so they can play a season of sport. Nationally, KidSport is comprised of a network of 11 provincial/territorial KidSport chapters and 178 community KidSport chapters. Since its creation in 1993, over 530,000 kids across the country have been given the chance to play sport through KidSport grants and sport introduction programming
Hockey Canada Assist Fund
PuCKS
Promoting Community through Kids in Sport Program (PuCKS) is a registered charity that "Keeps kids in school using Sports as the Tool." That is, PuCKS helps kids to stay (and succeed) in school by offering the incentive of team sports and 'big-buddy' relationships with university student mentors and athletes. PuCKS works with marginalized kids ages 8 to18 who are financially in need and/or recently re-settled in Canada through its annual 10 month comprehensive program of: a) Team Sports (soccer, hockey, and more) and b) Lit-Fit (after-school literacy and homework club).
