2021-22 Langley Minor Hockey Season

Copy of Mark Soares

Starting out at the age of four, through minor, to Junior A, to helping lead his team to Canadian National Championships, to university scholarships both NCAA and CIS, to high level Professional European Hockey, Mark has seen and done what most dream of.  He has the experience to guide young hockey players down that difficult yet rewarding path.  Learning from his own mistakes, disappointments and achievements, Mark has developed ways to help players maintain a positive mindset, train to their highest potential and better themselves both on and off the ice.  Hockey is his passion, and his goal is to give back to young hockey players and give them every opportunity, the knowledge and the skills to be successful in the sport as he helps to continue the strong tradition of our Canadian game!  When not Coaching, Mark is busy sharing his knowledge with players through his own development company.

Following a distinguished playing career, including playing professionally in Germany, he returned to the Lower Mainland where he earned his designated Chartered Professional Coach designation and in 2014/15, Phil was recognized as the BC Hockey Coach of the Year.  When not at the rink, Phil spends time with his wife and three children and is a police officer!  He is excited about returning to Langley for the upcoming season and looks forward to mentoring our U-13 A1 players.

When he is not at the rink coaching, Jake owns an athletic development training business where he continues to share his knowledge and love of the game!
