Hello LMHA Families,
Langley Minor Hockey Association is pleased to introduce Alex Guiney as our Hockey Operations Coordinator! Alex was born and raised in Ontario and grew up playing minor hockey as a goaltender. He graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Sport Management from Brock University. While attending Queen’s University, Alex was named Captain of the Queen’s University Men’s Lacrosse Team & earned an All-Canadian Honourable Mention.
Alex brings an extensive amount of hockey experience to the Association in a wide variety of areas including his roles as General Manager of the Cobourg Cougars (OJHL – Jr. A) and the Port Hope Panthers (PJHL – Jr. C), as well as Assistant Manager of the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL – Jr. A) and the Pickering Panthers (OJHL – Jr. A). Throughout his professional career Alex has worked as an on-ice Goalie Instructor, completed an Internship and Research for the Canadian Olympic Committee (Rio 2016), attended a Hockey GM and Scouting course with Sport Management Worldwide, and was a blogger for Quantum Sport Management.
After relocating to the Lower Mainland in 2021, Alex reached out to LMHA about getting involved as a volunteer and joined LMHA as the U15 Division Manager. Now as the successful candidate for the Hockey Operations Coordinator role, our Board of Directors is thrilled to work with Alex and provide the membership with an optimal experience for development and the enjoyment of hockey with LMHA.
“I’m very excited to take on this role within the LMHA, and work towards providing the best holistic development and competitive opportunities for our players and members.
Langley is a tremendous community, and I look forward to working with the Board of Directors as well as our members in order to provide the best hockey and life experiences for all players within the LMHA”.
