Hello LMHA Families,
Happy Friday! It is hard to believe that we are already finishing the first week of August. The count down to the 2021/22 Season is on… Welcome to all our new LMHA families who have recently registered for the season. We are excited to get going… the season will start before you know it. We anticipate having preliminary Rep Evaluation schedules posted on the website as early as next week. Look forward to seeing the start dates for our House players closer to the end of August but for planning purposes all ‘C’ Division players are tentatively scheduled to hit the ice in mid-September. This email includes upcoming events, a call for Officials, and what’s up next for our Summer Development programs.
LMHA Goalie Equipment Collection
Langley Minor Hockey is looking for used goalie equipment sized to outfit U11 goaltenders. If you have gently used items such as goalie bags, knee pads, pants, a blocker, trapper, or sticks that you would like to donate, we would greatly appreciate your contribution! Further to that, if you have goalie gear outside of that size range that you would like to donate and allow LMHA the leverage to make some trades with Sports Replay or similar, we will welcome that as well! All items will be collected outside of George Preston Recreation Centre on Saturday, August 14th between 10am and 12pm. We would love to see you there!
Langley Rivermen Open House
Also happening on the August 14th-15th weekend is a WELCOME BACK organized by the Langley Rivermen. Things are happening at the George Preston Recreation Centre! Renovations are taking place in the arena and so much has already been updated. There is a new look and the opportunity to pick your seating for the upcoming Langley Rivermen season. The Rivermen ID Camp will take place over the August 14th & 15th weekend, and they encourage families to come out and watch a game or two. While you are there, be sure to check out the new Horse & Ryder Pub and Lodge Steakhouse for great tasting food!

Planning for the season is extremely important to ensure your safety and enjoyment. Whether you are new to hockey or returning to hockey, we recommend purchasing your gear well in advance of the season start date to avoid feeling rushed to hit the ice for your first session. For your safety, full gear is required for all ice times and having equipment that fits you properly is a must. The staff at the hockey retail stores are knowledgeable and eager to help you so please, ask them questions!
Thank you and have a fantastic weekend!
