Dear LMHA Players and Families,
As we sign off on the 2020-21 hockey season, the LMHA Board of Directors would like to take the time to recognize our Players, Parents, Guardians, Coaches, Managers, HCSP’s, and On-Ice Volunteers. This has been one for the history books! We appreciate that this hockey season was far from normal. That being said, the commitment of our members brings forth numerous highlights and achievements. The fact that we could remain on the ice speaks volumes of your efforts! Everyone adapted and changed on the fly to whatever new protocol was put in place. Our players showed up at the arena each and every day with a smile on their face! Our coaches kept their players motivated by thinking outside the box and implementing new drills and challenges. The efforts from behind the scenes by our Team Managers, Division Managers, and Board Members was nothing short of remarkable. The HCSP’s also took on a much bigger role this season and because of their diligence, we had confidence that the safety of our players was of the utmost importance. This season, it would be impossible to recognize any one volunteer so for that reason, we will be hosting an Instagram Live draw to give away small tokens of appreciation to lucky LMHA Volunteers. Stay tuned for dates and times…
GRADUATING U18 PLAYERS
As you graduate, remember that as a hockey player you have been challenged to set your goals high, push yourself, and give all in everything that you do. Sports are a preparation for life and what you learn from being a part of a team is something that you will carry forward with you on your journey. Some of the things that your Coaches have taught you about life are about to begin making sense! As you begin the next chapter in your book, we at LMHA couldn’t be more pleased for you and want to take this opportunity to wish you every success in all of your future endeavours. It has been a pleasure to have you as part of our Association and we hope that you will continue with us through our Under-21 hockey program… or as an Assistant Coach… or as a Coach… we would be lucky to have you!
This season to commemorate your time with LMHA, we were excited to present each of you with a brand-new personalized jersey. We hope that you will wear these with pride and think back often of your many minor hockey memories! Congratulations to each of you!!
“Goals live on the other side of obstacles and challenges. Be relentless in pursuit of those goals, especially in the face of obstacles. Along the way, make no excuses and place no blame.” ~ Ray Bourque
DIRECTOR OF COACH AND PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
On behalf of LMHA, we would like to congratulate Jordan Emmerson on his new role outside of LMHA and to say thank you for his many contributions to minor hockey in Langley over the past four seasons. This is an exciting step in Jordan’s career, and we wish him the best of success in all of his future endeavours.
Our Board of Directors are actively preparing to recruit and hire a qualified candidate to join our organization. Stay tuned!
JERSEY RETURNS AND TEAMSNAP
Please ensure you return your jersey(s) to your Head Coach or Manager asap. Jerseys should be washed, all name bars and/or letters removed, and returned hanging on metal hangers. U6 through U9 players keep their DARK jersey and return their LIGHT jersey. U11 C players keep their BLACK jersey and return their WHITE jersey.
As a reminder, please DO NOT retire from your TeamSnap roster. This will be LMHA’s method of communication until we open registration for next season. If you leave the team, you will miss out on important updates. Thank you in advance!
In closing, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a safe and healthy off-season! We are hopeful that the landscape of our hockey world will be closer to, if not almost back to normal for next season and are actively planning as such. There are no guarantees, but we are crossing our fingers as we cannot wait to see the kids resume game play!
